Il dottor Gérard Déganendji è nato il 1° gennaio 1961 a Sibut, una delle città della Repubblica Centrafricana. Attualmente insegnante-ricercatore e storico di formazione, è docente presso il Dipartimento di Storia della Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell'Università di Bangui.
