Autorenporträt
Tawana Wilson was born and raised in a housing project on the south side of Chicago. She became a mother at sixteen years old and was exposed to much trauma and turmoil. After dropping out of high school and finding herself on public assistance, Tawana was determined not to have her son grow up as she had. She enrolled in an alternative school where she graduated, then pursued higher levels of education and has earned an associate degree in Applied Science with a Major in Business Administration, a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management, and a master's degree in Social Work. Tawana is now a Licensed Social Worker and is currently the staff therapist for a non-profit organization in Chicago that is committed to reducing gun violence in the city's most at-risk neighborhoods. She enjoys serving and giving back to the community.
