In this book, the application of Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for protection of electric generators is introduced. The ANFIS can be viewed as a fuzzy system, a neural network or fuzzy neural network. The objective of this research is to enhance the Loss of Excitation and Phase back-up protection functions. The need for improved generator protection is not only for safety concern, but also considered an economic issue. This is due to the time needed for replacement or maintenance for the faulty generator which will cause discontinuity problems for the served power systems. As such, to ensure continuity of service, the protective equipment serving the generators shall be analyzed and improved.

Mohamed Abdel Aziz est titulaire d'une licence, d'une maîtrise et d'un doctorat en génie électrique de la FECU et de la BU, en Égypte, respectivement en 2008, 2011 et 2017. Il travaille actuellement comme ingénieur électricien à Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners). M. A. Moustafa Hassan est titulaire d'une licence, d'une maîtrise et d'un doctorat de la FECU, en Égypte. Il est actuellement professeur titulaire à la FECU.
