This study was carried out elucidate genetic variation among populations of Phlebotomus orienanlis vector of visceral leishmnaiasis from three different geographical regions in Sudan. Sand flies were collected from White Nile, Gedarif, Blue Nile and Khartoum States using CDC and sticky paper traps. In addition, clear clustering of P. orientalis based on their geographical regions were observed.
