Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus (MYMV) has been found widely distributed throughout the World causing enormous losses to leguminous crops. The yield losses vary from 10 to 100 per cent depending upon the severity and genotypic response to disease. Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus (MYMV) has been found widely distributed throughout the World causing enormous losses to leguminous crops. The yield losses vary from 10 to 100 per cent depending upon the severity and genotypic response to disease. Mungbean is one of the important legume crops extensively grown under both rainfed and irrigated conditions. The present yield potential is not enough to attract farmers because of low yield and susceptibility to disease. Hence, the present investigation was carried out to study the genetics of quantitative traits and also the inheritance of MYMV. The material for the present study included eight diverse lines crossed with four diverse testers. The combining ability analysis revealed that the importance of non-additive gene action in controlling all the yield contributing traits. The correlation studies showed that the traits number of branches per plant, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per cluster, number of pods per plant, pod length, number of seeds per pod, 100 seed weight and harvest index had positive association with seed yield. Among the 32 hybrids, five showed complete resistance against MYMV disease with high yield.
