IntroductionCouple infertility affects around 15% of couples of childbearing age. Its medical, socio-cultural, psychological and financial impact makes it a genuine public health problem. Female factor infertility is implicated in around 50% of cases of couple infertility. The most frequent causes of female infertility are absence of ovulation (anovulation), manifested by the absence of menstrual periods, or ovulation disorders (dysovulation), manifested by irregularity of the menstrual cycle. These disorders can have two main origins: primary or premature ovarian insufficiency (PIO) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
