The three broad categories of FGM are: clitoridectomy, excision and infibulation. The mildest form of FGM, clitoridectomy, is the removal of all or part of the clitoris. The practice of FGM is justified to exercise control over women's alleged uncontrolled sexuality and emotional nature. There are also said to be hygienic and aesthetic reasons and the need to comply with tradition and supposed religious requirements. There have been few studies concerning women in Ethiopia, but many observers have commented on the physical hardships that Ethiopian women experience throughout their lives. The results have showed that there is birth complication during giving birth. In order to minimize such suffering the mothers should say no for circumcision of the new born one. Results have shown that most families in the area do not have good education.
