The geological environment (geoenvironment) is that part of lithosphere, which directly influences the subsistence and development of the society, which the man exploits and renovates. It is a young interdisciplinary science, which brings about new approaches and concepts in solving problems of interactions between man and environment with a prime role to ensure its rational use and protection. Geoenvironmental conditions manifestly influence the mechanism of groundwater pollution. However, there is scant attention worldwide, on its role in groundwater pollution. Main outcome of the present work is to bring out the role played by the geoenvironmental features of a region in the dynamics of water soluble metallic contaminants and how these landscape characteristics need to be carefully integrated in waste and water management strategies
