Numerical model for studying river morphology is a mathematical model to solve river bed and bank shifting using Cubic Interpolated Pseudo-particle scheme. The method is applied to solve continuity and momentum equation in finite difference equation. The final formulation was found by Yabe and Ishikawa in 1990. Since then, Hydraulic Laboratory in Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University in Japan have used and developed this model in many experiments and field applications to predict phenomenon in morphology of a meandering river. Because of its success in simulating experiments in two dimensional framework, now the numerical model has developed to 3D model in user-friendly software. Though the numerical model can reproduce behavior of a meandering river, it has a little diffusion in the advection term.
