He served as president of a number of American industrial corporations, including the Metropolitan Railroad Corporation, Washington, the Washington Railway and Electric Company, H. M. Byllesby and Company, Louisville Gas and Electric Company, and the Fargo and Moorhead Street Railroad Company. He was born on September 19, 1860 in South Wales. His son, Warren Harries, died in an accident in France during World War I.
