Locally,to some uninformed country folk , geothermal springs gush out onto the earths surface due to accumulation of large volumes of hot water, heated by ancestral female spirits for their spirit husbands to bathe deep in the belly of the earth. This, inter alia , provoked the author's scientific mind to pursue this subject with agility and alacrity - more so, realizing that geothermal resources in Nkhata Bay, Malawi, were not previously studied and documented in the country and even beyond.
