Under the leadership of the Chair of Geriatrics, each medical school should ensure that the necessary competencies in the field of knowledge, skills and attitudes are met so that the university product, the physician, is able to cope with the problems of the elderly. The topics addressed during the study are of vital importance to subsequently provide excellent care to our elders, achieving quality of life and a satisfactory longevity. The knowledge of Geriatrics in Undergraduate methodologically based on the Thematic Plan that is proposed addresses knowledge that is not covered in the current study plan and that constitute learning needs in our students since the teaching-learning process is organized in a specific way. This proposal has the approval of the teachers of the Main Integrating Discipline as well as of the specialists in Geriatrics.
