Among them are the first German reservists to fall in hostile actions and the first German policemen to die in a deployment abroad. Of a total of 40 fatalities, 26 were attributed to enemy action, nine were caused by accidents and the cause of five has yet to be commented on by the authorities.In addition to these fatalities, 143 German soldiers and 4 police officers suffered injuries of varying degree caused by hostile activity.
