History didactics needs to position itself vis-à-vis other disciplines, subjects and research approaches. So where does it stand today? Alongside reflections on spatial relationships and limitations, this volume poses fundamental questions about interrelated disciplines in history didactics and provides productive discourses amongst neighbouring disciplines in the cultural sciences with a focus on theory and teaching practices. The chapters in this volume explore positions and self-assurances, whilst throwing light on factual frames of reference and conceptual horizons. An understanding of them is not a static undertaking, but accomplished through flexible and fluid thought processes.
