Although he has no extension of his arms or legs, he has not been limited in his career or in his personal life. After graduating from Syracuse University's S.I. Robinson's success did not come easily. From learning how to dress himself after going away to college, to making new friends and feeling accepted, he struggled to come to terms with his disability and make a life on his own. Although his journey may not be considered "normal," he does not see this as an obstacle, but as an opportunity to succeed and to understand the meaning of responsibility. Robinson writes in an honest, personal voice, showing that a disability does not have to get in the way of an education, a career, a family, or one of his favorite hobbies, golf. Autorenporträt
John Robinson is a writer and designer living in Stockport. Born in Manchester, he spent his childhood growing up in the beautiful semi-rural village of Marple on the edges of the Peak Forest Canal. After studying graphic design at Stockport College of Technology he moved into multimedia and web design. From an early age his real passion lay in writing poetry and short stories and his work has been published in several anthologies. The natural world forms a large part of the inspiration for his poetry and a lot of the poems in Terraces & Temples were conceived while out walking on the towpaths and in the surrounding countryside of his home town. John Robinson also takes inspiration from art, photography, music and popular culture and will mine any creative pursuit to find the spark of an idea for his poetry. He is currently a self-employed web designer and lives with his wife and daughter in Marple.
