GD birla's father Baldeodas birla was adopted from the Navalgarh birla family. Baldeodas's fortune was made along with the his newphew(sisters son) Fulchand Sodhani of Lachmangargh, in a very successful speculation in opium trade running into more than 10 million rupees during those days.
