Autorenporträt
Culture Kid Books publishes stories with the aim of cultivating Cultural Intelligence (CQ) in our youth. Upon embarking on adventures in unfamiliar cultures and ways of life, the reader grows to understand the humanity of the protagonist and their environment. We believe that solving worldwide problems is only possible when we educate ourselves about the world around us through books written by residents and citizens of that land. The concept was founded by Viva Liban, who has lived in six different countries and visited over 30 all over the world. She had a hard time understanding people of cultures foreign to her own. That is until she made an effort to really get to know why people of certain cultures did the things they did. After that, she started to feel more comfortable relating to other cultures, and she became more culturally intelligent. She got certified from the Cultural Intelligence Center to teach about Cultural Intelligence, and it has been her passion ever since. Viva realized that people wanted to learn about other cultures in an entertaining way. Sure, movies and facts were a way to go, but she wanted something edifying without working too hard. So she contacted story-tellers from all over the world to write about their cultures through captivating stories so that the world could understand what it was like to be from their culture. Culture Kid Books was born and ever since, it has reached the hearts of kids who want to prepare themselves for an ever globalizing world.
