Justine De Peralta is a former classroom teacher turned Certified Financial Educator (CFEI®), Money Coach, and Domestic Violence Counselor. As the founder of Afraid to Affluent, she specializes in helping BIPOC women and domestic violence survivors develop the confidence and financial literacy skills needed to navigate challenging financial situations.Her commitment to supporting BIPOC women and domestic violence survivors began in 2007. For three years, she served at a local courthouse, helping individuals dealing with divorce, child custody, and eviction. Although there are many reasons couples seek divorce, financial challenges and domestic violence are among the most common.Despite building a career in education, Justine transitioned to financial services after leaving a physically, emotionally, and psychologically abusive marriage. Her dedication to helping those in abusive and toxic relationships is deeply personal and fuels her passion for this work.
