The Clan has achieved the adolescent dream: living right next door to their college best friends, raising their children as siblings, and never having to say goodbye to their youthful outlook on life. But when does close become too close? They don't see anything wrong with taking each other's kids to the doctor, buying clothes for them, bringing them to and from school, hugging them and kissing them as if they were their own blood. The kids' teachers have ongoing bets about if the kids all live in the same house and if their parents all sleep in the same bed. Sometimes, the interactions between the parents and the children are so familial, it's impossible to tell whose child is whose. Every summer the three kids, Shelby, Cole, and Lydia, go to camp in Bangor, Maine. It's here that they get to have independence from their parents, but struggle to get away from each other. They tell everyone that they're siblings, because that's all they know. The other campers find it confusing, and the kids find their dynamic difficult to explain. On the first day of high school, the kids meet a girl named Jordan who starts a romantic relationship with Cole. Her outside perspective forces the kids to wonder for the first time if all this is really okay. During their final summer at Camp Bangor, when the kids are caught doing something in the woods, the Clan and their surrounding relationships start unraveling in violent, unexpected ways. >CONTENT WARNINGS: Depictions of OCD, some self-harm, PTSD, death, loss of a child, sexual assault, sexual harassment, uncomfortable sexual situations, bullying, cyber bullying, dating violence, underage drinking and smoking, graphic violence all involving teeangers
