In the context of information technology, it is explained the geographical information system (GIS) as a leader in spatial analysis and necessary technology in strategic planning. In the fourth part of the book it is shown a new original concept of modeling for the strategic planning of urban areas in building business models. This new concept allows raising of the business models to a higher level with built in self-explanation of the model for a full understanding of the process involved in the model, whereby it is enabled its easier application use and development.It is shown the practical application of the concept of modeling in many business models related to efficient planning and management of taxes, encouraging investment, planning for energy recovery etc.

Sashko Martinovski is a professor of Informatics and Marketing at the Faculty of Technology and Technical Sciences Veles at ¿St.Kliment Ohridski¿ University Bitola. He received his PhD in GIS and Economy at ¿St.Kliment Ohridski¿ University Bitola. Recently, his main fields of scientific research activity include: Expert system, GIS and Marketing.
