Woody Holton is the McCausland Professor of History at the University of South Carolina. Sarah E. McCartney is assistant teaching professor, National Institute of American History & Democracy, William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA. Alan Shaw Taylor is a historian and scholar who is the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History at the University of Virginia. Karin A. Wulf is a historian and the Beatrice and Julio Mario Santo Domingo Director and Librarian of the John Carter Brown Library in Providence, RI.
