This book elaborates the journey of transformation of designs of one folk art into another developing a completely new genre of contemporary designs. Aipan designs are influenced from Hindu mythology and nature which incorporate elements of design in natural, geometric and stylized forms. On the other hand Chikankari incorporates elements of nature in abstract, natural, stylized and geometric forms. The designs so formed by combining these two Indian arts are interestingly traditional, stylized and appealing to eyes evincing the originality of both the art forms.
