I believe lone mother's should be given more respect from society and government. The stigma and shame should be placed on the absent parent for running away from their responsibilities, surely? After all, if lone parents and their children are forced to live in poverty, why should the absent parent be free to do as they please, and financially not responsible, for a child they created equally with the other parent? When your eyes are opened to the social injustices that exist in our society today, there is no undoing or erasingthat knowledge. Opportunity comes with fundamental change and I am very fortunate to have experienced transformative education to enable this change.
