Gizmo The Lonely Robucket is based on a partially true story. Petey is my son and Mousey is his father. We packed up our three young children in 1958 and moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to a small island in the Bahamas, to build a new scuba and skin diving resort. Produktbeschreibung
Gizmo The Lonely Robucket is based on a partially true story. Petey is my son and Mousey is his father. We packed up our three young children in 1958 and moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to a small island in the Bahamas, to build a new scuba and skin diving resort. I was always fascinated with young Peteys malapropisms, especially his name "robucket" for robot. I knew that some day it might come in handy so, here I am at almost 85 years old, having just written my first children's book about Gizmo the lonely robucket. The fantasy begins with the creation of Gizmo in the tool shed. Let the soft trade winds of the night air carry you along with Gizmo, and his friend Mortimer Frog, to discover a new magical world on the island. Your children will walk through this book with Gizmo, enjoying his adventures in meeting new friends. Gizmo is treated with love and kindness, but once he travels away from the island, he is an outcast. This learning experience is dealt with amazingly well by the tiny robucket. Children will learn from this book how to cope better with bullying and rejection. I send my love to all of my readers, especially to those children who are or have been rejected and or bullied. I was one of those children and I wanted to share my book with you. Much love, Ann Lloyd.
Autorenporträt
Ann Lloyd has journeyed the world with a wide range of travel escapades. In the early 1950's she ventured out and discovered the tiny, rarely traveled "Lost Island of the Caribbean." At the age of 80 she chronicled her kaleidoscope of adventures in her first book, "Vodka On My Wheaties." Now, five years later, she has penned the children's book "Gizmo The Lonely Robucket." In both works she recorded her intense observations and amazing insights during encounters with unusual humans and animals.
