The Glencoe Historical Society, now located downtown at the Eklund History Center and Garden, was founded in 1937 to protect and preserve the history of the village. Authors Ellen Kettler Paseltiner and Ellen Shubart are both long-time residents of Glencoe. Ms. Paseltiner serves as Research Center Director for the Glencoe Historical Society and Ms. Shubart is the society's president.
