A beacon of guidance and a call to poetic rebellion, Glitter in the Blood: A Poet's Manifesto for Better, Braver Writing stands as both the ultimate guidebook and a rallying anthem for poets with an insatiable hunger for transformative growth. For those aspiring to forge poems that defy the constraints of convention, ignite inspiration, and etch a lasting mark upon both audience and self, this volume is a compass pointing true north. Glitter in the Blood: A Poet's Manifesto for Better, Braver Writing beckons to those who possess imagination, skill, and the audacious courage required for remarkable creative endeavors. In lieu of a mere, straightforward, step-by-step manual, it presents a cache of essays, prompts, and exercises, akin to a master thief's toolkit, designed to unlock your innermost fount of creativity. Through the skillful prose of Nettifee, within these pages, you will witness your poetic practice ascend to uncharted heights and feel the empowerment to embrace the artistic act of self-expression with boldness and confidence.

Autorenporträt
Mindy Nettifee came to writing through listening, mostly at the many dogeared open mic poetry readings around Southern California in the 1990s. Her lyric and narrative poems travel vast territories in personal and cultural memory, while exploring the heart and the voice as both compass and crystal ball. She holds a MA from Pacifica in Depth Psychology and Somatic Studies, and is currently conducting doctoral research into the impact of trauma on languaging and the sensory capacities of the voice. She teaches writing and performance in her home of Portland, Oregon and around the U.S.
