Paul James is Director of the Global Cities Institute (RMIT University) and Director of the United Nations Global Compact, Cities Programme (Melbourne and New York). He is Professor of Globalization in the Globalism Research Centre, on the Council of the Institute of Postcolonial Studies, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts. He is author or editor of 25 books including most importantly, Nation Formation (Sage, 1996) and Globalism, Nationalism, Tribalism (Sage, 2006). His other recent books include Sustainable Development, Sustainable Communities (University of Hawaii Press, 2012) and the first twelve volumes of the present 16-volume series mapping the field of globalization (Sage, 2006-2010). Nevzat Soguk is Professor and the Deputy Director of the Global Cities Research Institute. His research is guided by an interest in international relations theory and global political and cultural economies, and he is especially interested in transnational processes that bear upon the practices and norms of national and international governance and policy-making. James H. Mittelman is University Professor of International Affairs at American University, Washington, DC, and Honorary Fellow at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies. Previously, held the Pok Rafeah Chair in International Studies and was Distinguished Visiting Professor at the National University of Malaysia. He has also had teaching and research appointments in Japan, Mozambique, South Africa, and Uganda. His books include The Globalization Syndrome: Transformation and Resistance (Princeton University Press, 2000), Whither Globalization? The Vortex of Knowledge and Ideology (Routledge, 2004), Hyperconflict: Globalization and Insecurity (Stanford University Press, 2010), and Contesting Global Order: Development, Global Governance, and Globalization (Routledge, 2011). Paul van Seters is Professor of Globalization and Sustainable Development, TiasNimbas Business School, Tilburg University. He has published articles and books on socio-legal theory, public administration, and cultural sociology. His current research interests include law and communitarianism, corporate social responsibility, and the global civil society.
