The book "Glossary of Plant Breeding" has been written keeping in view of the requirements of undergraduate- and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers pursuing their career in plant breeding. It has been our experience that in any examination or interview, students and researchers want to have a look on the various aspects of plant breeding at a glance. This partial dictionary is expected to meet not only their immediate requirements, but also provide conceptual overview on a given aspect. It has been framed to provide a classical as well as modern concepts of molecular genetics and biotechnology and their applications to plant breeding. Attempts have been made to conceptualize biometrical concepts in terms of recent developments in biotechnology vis-a-vis quantitative trait loci (QTLs). The book will certainly be of great benefit to both students and teachers alike.
