It is known from the eastern Sunda Islands (from Java eastward), Sulawesi, the Moluccas, the Philippines, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Micronesia and eastern Australia. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera.
