Aren M. Maeir, Ph.D. (1997) in Archaeology, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is Associate Professor of Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University and is director of the Tell es-Safi/Gath Archaeological Project. He has published extensively on Bronze and Iron Age Archaeology of the Levant, including In the Midst of the Jordan: The Jordan Valley in the Middle Bronze Age - Archaeological and Historical Correlates (Vienna, 2010) Jodi Magness, Ph.D. (1989) in Classical Archaeology, University of Pennsylvania, is Kenan Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence in Early Judaism in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has published extensively on the archaeology of Qumran, Jerusalem, ancient pottery, ancient synagogues, and the Roman army in the East. Lawrence H. Schiffman is Edelman Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies and Chair of the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University. His latest book is Qumran and Jerusalem: Studies on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the History of Judaism (Eerdmans, 2010).
