J.P. Osterman was one of five finalists in the 2015 Brevard Library Foundation's "Patrick D. Smith Literary Award." She won the prestigious Rupert Hughes Award at the Maui Writers' Conference for her novel, The Matter Stream, which she has been transforming into her Nelta Series of books. Her one-act play, The Man Next to Me, won First Place at the Southern California Writers' Conference and was published in the San Diego Writer's Monthly. Including God Designed, her debut inspirational book, J.P. has written a total of ten books, from main stream fiction - to - a young adult novel - to - two collections of her short stories and finally her favorite genre - Science Fiction. Her first published novel was the highly acclaimed young adult book entitled The Screaming Stone, which was followed by her whistleblower suspense novel Corporate Revenge, and Pete's Crossroad transformed from her award-winning play and short story, "The Man Next to Me." While teaching high school English in the 1990s, she met with Ray Bradbury on more than one occasion, who inspired her to write science fiction. Her Science Fiction books include: a realistic look at colonizing Mars and the exploration of the far reaches of the universe in Cosmic Rift, contacting ancient aliens in First Communication (Book I, The Nelta Series). Battlefield Matrix (Book II) and Astrocity Sagan (Book III) continue the series. She recently compiled and released two short-story books, Commuter Collection: Short Stories from the Edge and Pareidolia: Science Fiction Short Stories. J.P. Osterman was a reader and writer throughout her youth. She graduated from University of San Diego with a B.A. in English (with an emphasis in writing) and later a Master's degree from Azusa Pacific University. She is on the Board of Directors and is Secretary of the Space Coast Writers' Guild and a member of Brevard Scribblers.
