The book describes a born again relationship between Jesus and an individual. From the time Jesus had walked on the Earth to this time presently the intent had always been for the relationship to be such. The gospels were always intended to be understood as a personal requirement. Through the hundreds of years that have followed from the time of Jesus, the gospels have mutated to be more Church oriented than person oriented.

Autorenporträt
Born and raised in Michigan! Spent several years in a parochial school until transferring to public education in late grade school up to and including graduation from high school in 1962. Going directly into higher education at Ferris State University after which enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division for 3 years. Gene spent the bulk of his professional career in purchasing and contract administration in the power industry. His working years ended abruptly from the Chrysler Corporation after suffering from a debilitating disease, peripheral neuropathy. Although raised as a Catholic, during the late 1990's he joined a small non- denominational church. While there he studied for several years and later became an assistant pastor. He stayed in that position until the church relocated out of the city. Not too many years later his disease deteriorated to the point where he was wheelchair-bound. It was from this point on that Gene was able to devote more time to the Bible and biblical studies. During this time he would study the Bible and contemplate those things he studied, and from time to time he would make notes and put them on an electronic notepad. As time went on, he realized that he had many of these notes accumulating. His book God Is Not a Member of Your Church is a compliation of his thoughts as a result of his nine years of ministry, his personal studies, and weighing in on the variety of Christian teaching today. Firmly attesting to the fact that the Church has failed not only its people but has failed God Himself.
