God of the Valleys (Mysteries Along Life's Journey) is a journey with God that reminds us that when we trust in God rather than leaning on our understanding, we acknowledge Him, and God will make our path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). God of the Valleys (Mysteries Along Life's Journey) is a journey with God that reminds us that when we trust in God rather than leaning on our understanding, we acknowledge Him, and God will make our path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). Mine is not a journey on a path of despair, nor are the pages strewn with hopeless devastation. My story overflows with faith in God, undying courage, and God's grace to push through struggles, even with joy. Ours wasn't a journey that exempted us from suffering; on the contrary, God and the support of friends taught us how to thrive in the midst of it. Hospitalization and cancer were such a big part of our lives that we had to triumph over these with God's help to enjoy full lives. Our story is of a pilgrimage with God comprised of pain, mystery, humour, forgiveness, and repentance. When you enter my world through the pages of God of the Valleys (Mysteries Along Life's Journey), the tapestry of my life is unlike most. You will hear the voices of my children, Tanya and Eric, as they lift their battle cry over cancer with joy, hope, humour, and perseverance. That will, I hope, encourage the reader to hold fast to hope in God. There are mysteries about God and suffering that are not easily explained, and even when we don't understand, trusting in Him is still the answer. I am so thankful to God for the gift of my children, Tanya and Eric, who loved God and walked with Him all their days and taught me to do the same.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Janet Williamson's story is about a unique journey with God as a single parent, the voices of her children heard through pages of dark valleys, mingled with joy, hope and humour, while grappling with the mysteries of things not understood. The Scriptures, worship, prayer, church, friends and the community were sources of strength and comfort as this family put their faith in God, while yearning to grow spiritually. Studying Early Childhood Education was her parenting foundation to understanding child development and moving the family to Texas to attend Christ For the Nations Bible Institute anchored them in trusting God. Back to Canada, she worked as a teacher assistant and as a child and youth worker that equipped her to support her children emotionally and academically. Attending evening courses at Trent University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by a Bachelor of Education at York University which opened the door to elementary teaching. Additional courses at Queens University equipped her with a Specialist in Special Education. Later, she attended Tyndale University and earned a Masters in Divinity majoring in counselling and at the Toronto School of Theology, she completed the Chaplaincy Program at The Scarborough Hospital, Grace Division. Janet continued to work in education and volunteer counselling until she retired in 2013 and recently moved with her Akbash dog to Vernon BC Canada, anticipating the next chapter of her journey with God.
