They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Author, entrepreneur, real estate agent, accountant, and empowerment speaker, Theresa C. Friday is a woman of many titles. However, the one she most identifies with is faithful over-comer. After growing up in an ideal, two parent family home, Friday's life dramatically changed at the age of ten. Her once happy personality became overshadowed by thoughts of unworthiness, isolation, and emotional distress. Friday found herself sinking into a deep pit of depression, and by age 18, she had attempted her first suicide. She said, "I recall crying and looking in the mirror being tormented by thoughts like: 'you're ugly', 'you're dumb', 'you're worthless', 'you have no purpose to live', and 'just kill yourself'." Her response to these tormenting accusations was to ingest several anti-depressant pills. Instead of dying that day, Friday says she was "overtaken by an anointing like [she had] never experienced before." In that moment, God sweetly reassured her of a specific life purpose that would affect millions of people, especially women. More than 16 years after that first incident, Friday found herself quarantined in a psychiatric ward battling the same demons. However, something was different this time. She recalled, "I [had] decided that enough was enough as I laid in that hospital." So, with the determination of a prized fighter, Friday prayed her way out of depression and the confines of the mental institution. Through the power of God's grace and mercy, Friday has victoriously overcome the struggles of her past. In August 2014, she launched God Sees Greatness N U 2, LLC in memory of her late mother. Using her life as a roadmap, Friday offers transformative life lessons to the lost, depressed, and broken. It is her ultimate goal to educate and inspire women to pursue their personal greatness through the application of biblical principles. In the midst of this huge undertaking, Theresa C. Friday finds solace in her favorite scripture: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not" (Jeremiah 33:3). Friday's new book entitled "God Sees Greatness NU2: Winning the Suicide Battle Within" also provides in depth discussions on how a daunting yesterday became a victorious tomorrow.
