"Readers will appreciate Rachel J. Powell's wise pastoral companionship through the often exasperating yet life-giving process of helping a congregation discern who and what they are called to be. She also suggests concrete tools for engaging the biblical text so congregations, in their own contexts, can listen for God's voice to empower them in their God-given identity. Finally, she calls on preachers to claim their role in this powerful work"--back cover.

Autorenporträt
Rachael J. Powell serves as pastor of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, a growing and thriving congregation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her path to congregational ministry took many Holy Spirit detours, including as a jazz vocalist, incompetent house painter, and law school dropout. She is on the Lutheran Family Services-Rocky Mountains board of directors. Her favorite role, however, is being mom to son Sam.
