Born in Norwich, Connecticut of Italian descendant, a father (Philippo) from Italy, a veteran of the Italian Navy and the Italian Army, a barber and tailor. Became a United States citizen in his early 30's. Here in the united states. A mother from White Plains, New York; also from Italian descendants a seamstress (Anna Maria). Met in White Plains N.Y married and later settled in Norwich, raised a family of 5 boys. I was the baby of the family. I graduated from a technical school as an electrician. I worked my first job as a meter technician for the local power company and later worked on atomic, nuclear submarines at GENERAL DYNAMICS in Groton, Connecticut, I established The Malavenda Electric Company around 1963. I later expanded into heat pump air conditioning and building contractor for over 45 years. I formed the MALECO CORPORATION, in Connecticut later located in Florida, attended college and graduated construction and building technology (with advanced architect courses) and formed the CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN COMPANY in Florida and Tennessee. While during his life in Connecticut. He was involved in his community, elected president, United Italian Society for 5 years. Served on committees, dangerous buildings and trees commission, the planning commission, the zoning commission, THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD auxiliary as flotilla commander for 5 years, assisted the in search and rescue, and patrolling inland water ways. And when relocated in Florida served in Madeira beach auxiliary for a short time. For a short time served in Redington Beach, Florida; the zoning board.
