Author Anita Adkins lives in Romney, West Virginia with her two cats, Whiskers Elizabeth and Tiger Lee. She loves the Lord and attends the Romney Church of the Nazarene. When she isn't teaching Braille and assistive technology at the school for the blind, she enjoys spending her time collecting dolls, learning and exploring new ideas and apps, cooking, reading, writing, listening to music and spending time and going on adventures with her friends and family. Blind since birth due to Optic Atrophy and Retinitis Pigmentosa, or RP, Anita has worked many years in the field of blindness education, helping other blind and low vision people to build confidence and gain non-visual skills that will enable them to live and work independently. She co-authored Ducking into UEB, a curriculum that teaches unified English braille, available from https://www.amazon.com/Ducking-Into-UEB-Anita-Adkins-ebook/dp/B078T4V2D2. Anita is a member of her local Lions Club and also a member of the National Federation of the Blind. Anita's advice to others is "Remember, your dream, or your goal, is the endpoint. It's the struggles and triumphs along the way that make that dream worth achieving! Dream the impossible because, in so doing, you will achieve much more then if your dream was only a reachable goal."
