High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Goshen College, is a private Mennonite liberal arts college in Goshen, Indiana, USA with an enrollment of around 1,000 students. The college is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Goshen College was founded in 1894 as the Elkhart Institute, and is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA. Goshen College maintains a distinctive Christian Mennonite environment, but admits students regardless of race or religion. U.S. News and World Reports ranks Goshen as a third-tier liberal arts college. Goshen's Study-Service Term takes students overseas for three months. Their time is split between studying the nation's language, history and culture, usually in the capital, and performing volunteer service, usually in smaller cities or rural areas of the country. The program was pioneering when it was founded in 1968 before study-abroad programs became widespread. The college is launching a domestic SST in 2010 in which students will be immersed in the Latino culture and community in northern Indiana.
