The present study comprises of six chapters subtitled as chapter one to six. The first chapter contains the general introduction of the study. This chapter includes the background of the study, the problem statement, the general and specific objectives, the research questions, the significance of the study, the scope of the study, and lastly, the limitations of the study. The second chapter contains the related literature reviews and the theoretical framework of the issue under investigation. Issues related to Governance and their respective concepts, notion of development, community development and the concept of community development, specifically; participation, capacity building, empowerment, poverty among others were deeply discussed. Other issues discussed were the theoretical analysis of models, such as rapid rural appraisal, community pool resource theory, modernization and dependency theory, neoclassical theory, institutional theory, and resource dependency theory. Moreover, other issues discussed are the theoretical framework as well as the relevance of the theories to this study. The third chapter entails about the methodology and database of the study.
