Decentralized Financial Structures (DFS) are proving to be the appropriate institutions to grant micro-credits to Small and Medium Enterprises which are still facing financing problems and also to offer financial services to people excluded from the conditions of classical banks in Sub-Saharan Africa. Indeed, a few decades after the appearance of the DFS which raised many hopes in the Black African States, the latter remain confronted with real governance problems whose mechanisms put in place will prove problematic for their survival. Thus, after highlighting corporate governance, our book focuses on governance mechanisms in DFSs through their practices and shows the impact of these practices on their performance. These mechanisms are at the heart of the concerns faced by these institutions, preventing them from ensuring their sustainability to achieve their objectives.
