Diese außergewöhnlichen Sätze des ermittelnden Beamten Robb sind der Anfang dieses Buches.
Die ganze Geschichte wird aus seiner Sicht erzählt und von Seite zu Seite spannender.
Im Laufe der Ermittlinugen werden immer mehr Details enthüllt, die zunächst wie eine heiße Spur aussehen, dann aber doch nicht zum Täter führen.
Als der Täter entlarvt wird, ist es für de Leser dann doch überraschend und die Frage nach dem "Warum?" wird auch noch beantwortet.
Was Robb vor Jahren bei dieser Ausgrabungsstätte erlebt hat, wird zwar direkt am Anfang erzählt, allerdings ist der Ausgang dieser früheren Geschichte für mich eher unbefriedigend. Aber um diese "alten Kamellen" geht es ja auch nur am Rande dieses Buches.
Alles in allem, ein fesselndes Buch, das man stellenweise durchaus schon als Thriller bezeichnen kann.
Ich habe gesehen, dass es schon Band 2 gibt und werde auch den mit Sicherheit lesen bzw. hören.
Der Stimme von David Nathan hätte ich noch stundenlang zuhören können.
Er besitzt die Fähigkeit, erstens die richtige Betonung zu treffen und zweitens allein durch seine Stimme zu fesseln.
