"After reading this book, you'll remember that even when you're in your valleys, God is alongside you with a perspective clearer than your own."-- Mark Batterson, New York Times bestselling author of The Circle Maker and lead pastor of National Community Church Psalm 23 summons us to lie down in green pastures and walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Yet so often it seems we do just the reverse--rushing through the pasture and lying down in the valley, fixating on our fears and uncertainties. We wonder where God has gone and why he doesn't make things right, never considering that perhaps what we perceive as a trial is actually an invitation. In this inspirational examination of David's most widely known psalm, Heath Adamson asks the provocative question, What if the green pasture and valley of the shadow of death are the same place? Uncovering the rich historical and spiritual context of the shepherd's psalm, he explores how God has provided a place of rest for each of us, even in times of unrest, ambiguity, and fear. "Anyone can see beauty from the mountaintop. Heath dares us to see beauty in the valley."--Ted Dekker, New York Times bestselling author "Heath has the gift of bringing fresh insights to favorite passages. Grace in the Valley expands our vision of the shepherd who is with us and comforts us in all things."--Kara Powell, PhD, executive director of the Fuller Youth Institute and coauthor of Growing Young Heath Adamson's life was changed dramatically when, at the age of seventeen, he was rescued out of a life steeped in drug abuse and the occult. Now a sought-after speaker at conferences, seminars, universities, and churches, Adamson seeks to bring audiences from simply knowing information about God to actually experiencing God in life-changing ways. Together with his wife, Ali, and their two daughters, Leighton and Dallon, he believes you are God's favorite place to be.
