Gloria J. Nichols, DNP, MSN, RN, BA, WHNP-BC, is an Army veteran, and has served in healthcare for 50 years. She earned an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from San Antonio College, Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio, nurse practitioner certification from UT Southwestern Dallas, Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University. She is also an ordained minister with the International Congress of Churches and Ministers and currently serves as an altar minister at Livingway Church, in San Antonio, Texas. Grief is not new to Dr. Nichols. She has experienced the loss of her father, grandparents, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, stepson, colleagues, and a host of friends. While each experience was heartfelt, none compared to the excruciating pain and sense of loss felt in her heart with the passing of her husband from pancreatic and liver cancer.
