Mazie H. Leftwich, PsyD, has always loved books, even as a young child who struggled to read because of an undiagnosed learning disability. But with the encouragement of her teachers, a very special librarian and her mother, she became an active reader who for many years now has enjoyed ending each evening with a book in her hands. As a mother reading with her own children and now a grandmother reading with her grandchildren, she finds great joy; and she is continually amazed at how once the spark of learning to read starts in a young child, how that excitement has such power in the direction of each child's life! Through the CedarWood Kids Adventure Book series, Mazie has captured the essence of real-life stories of her grandchildren's learning and growing experiences as they enjoy fun activities at CedarWood Farm. She and her husband Brent share four adult children and 6 grandchildren, and live at CedarWood along with their two Maltese pups - Scout and Scooter - and an array of wild animals that like to roam and live in the woods.
