The experiment carried out with four wild Solanum species in completely Randomized Design (CRD), applying eight treatments with four replications. Grafted plants were grown in a low cost polyhouse. Survival rate of grafted plants was recorded ten days after grafting, growth parameters taken after seven weeks of grafting and yield and quality attributes were recorded at harvesting stage. The survival rate of grafted plants was higher in all treatments except Solanum xanthocarpum. Grafting increased the number of fruits and fruit yield as compared to control plants. The grafted plants expressed more vigorous root system than non-grafted plants. Among all the wild Solanum species Solanum torvum showed least susceptible reaction whereas Solanum khasianum and Solanum xanthocarpum showed average susceptible reaction against bacterial wilt infection. It can be concluded that grafting in brinjal is very successful and it has positive influence on plant growth, vigour, rooting and yield. Selection of disease resistance rootstock also imparts resistance against most of soil borne diseases.
