Produktbeschreibung
Cheryl Adam takes the title Crone and owns it with reverence. She juxtaposes the negative experience of crone, with the positive post-menopausal experience. She sticks her head into her vagina in this work to find the real post-menopausal women as she internalizes the images and views of artists, art theorists, media and society, who haven t experienced post-menopause. She looks at the link between illness and aging; discusses a cross-cultural art experience that opened up her work; considers the woman s role of carer , and questions artists who use the marginalized, and children, as subjects for their art. Informed by many artists, Cheryl chooses to explore Cronedom as she comes to terms with the erotic crucified Crone. Her research has been an instinctive journey down a personal road of discovery. Now she can pull her head out of her vagina with a greater understanding, and embrace the crone she is.
