Kids notice things like difference in hair styles and color, as well as any other difference such as skin color or disabilities. Kids are so receptive to new and different things. To keep things life-like, I will also cover injuries and the death of a grandparent in future shorts. It is explained in a way that this writer feels is non-threatening but realistic.
