Although Dan triumphs in the end, it is not in the way he had imagined.

Eric Pope has retired from a career in journalism and public relations. For ten years he and his wife Karen owned and edited The Hardwick Gazette in Hardwick, Vermont. That town's history provided the inspiration for "Granite Kingdom," his first historical novel.
