Author Joan Momsen was born and raised in Grants Pass. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees and taught at Grants Pass High School for 28 years. Upon retiring from teaching, she began volunteering full-time at the Josephine County Historical Society. The Josephine County Historical Society gathers and preserves the history of the county, and the photographs in Images of America: Grants Pass come from its archives.
