Granulomatous inflammation of the oral and Orophrayngeal submucosal tissues is not common, but when found it represents a definite diagnostic dilemma because of the wide variety of possible etiologic disease rather generic appearance of the individual lesions. Granulomatous disorders are frequently due to a wide variety of infections. Over the past decade advances in molecular diagnostic techniques have allowed identification of organisms involved in granulomatous disorders that previously were of unknown aetiology. Therefore, it is necessary to have knowledge of various granulomatous diseases affecting oral cavity with emphasis on oral manifestations.
